QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK BEFORE YOU HIRE A DISC JOCKEY
* Do they use only professional audio or lighting equipment?
Here at DJSounds we only use professional equipment, and as a result we are assured you receive a reliable service and a quality presentation. Can you guarantee that other cheaper Disco's, will not be using a home stereo or other home made gear on the night?
In addition, all of our equipment is PAT tested for your safety.
* Will they provide back-up equipment in case of an emergency at your event?
Weddings, celebrations, and special events are often "once in a life time" opportunities. We always carry back-up systems on site for your peace of mind, not all competitors do...
How will you feel if your celebration has to be cancelled because an amplifier has broken down? With us you'll hopefully never have to find out!
*Are you guaranteed the DJ of your choice on the day of your special event?
We do not sub-contract or substitute with less experienced entertainers.
* Will they go over what you need to do at your wedding or celebration?
We will arrange a time to meet and plan your special day. We will custom tailor the flow of the celebration and music to personally suit your needs and taste.
*Will they make announcements, or just talk all over the music?
We will always make appropriate announcements as required, but we do not believe in talking all over the music. After all you want to dance & listen to the music, not listen to someone who loves the sound of his or her own voice waffling on.
*How will they dress?
Proper attire reflects a positive image to your guests. Your musical host should always dress in appropriate attire unless asked to "dress down" by the client.
*Will they turn up or be on time?
There is a saying "a verbal contract is only worth the paper it's written on" We can provide you a with contract which covers you against last minute cancellation etc, but even if it's a verbal agreement over the phone, you can rest assured we will make every effort to arrive on time. (We haven't let anyone down yet & we don't intend to start) Can you guarantee that other DJ's will actually turn up on the night? We get numerous calls every week "Can you help us out, our DJ has cancelled for this weekend & we're desperate etc"
We always allow an average of one hour or more before the contracted time for set up and sound checks. This is provided at no cost to you. We always prefer to arrive early so music can begin as your guests enter the event. What do other DJ's promise?
*Will they allow for requests?
Requests and suggestions should be welcome! This will allow a quality musical host to get "in-tune" with your guests. If some songs are inappropriate for the event, a good DJ will explain the reason why. DJs that are not open to requests usually have a poor musical library. They hide it by not accepting suggestions.
Ask about song selections. Can you choose from a song list? Can you choose a "no play" song list? Does the DJ have a wide variety of song selections? Can the DJ play songs to suite the tastes of ALL your guests (maybe two or three generations).
Ask how many CD's the DJ will bring to the event? They may tell you that they have a collection of over 1,000 CD's but they may only bring 200 to the event. We always bring a wide selection of music from the 40's to the present and a variety of styles to cover all situations.
AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU MUST CHOOSE
Save a few pounds but have the celebration from Hell or pay a little more and have the party of a lifetime with a professional DJ?
